An older base-building game, Last Shelter Survival is a game that’s all about building up your town so you can hold off hordes of zombies. Upgrade buildings, deploy troops, and level up heroes to keep your base safe!

Last Shelter Survival is 2018 freemium mobile game that ticks all the boxes. It’s got resource management,  slow base building, plenty of attractive characters to level, troops to send out, and asynchronous PVP. Heck, it even has misleading ads, completing the full package. 

Last Shelter’s complex mechanics and the plethora of choices are designed to suck you in to play the game for as long as possible. You can gain an edge by choosing the right upgrades, buildings, and tactics to get ahead of the curve. It’ll take a while for your choices to pay off, however, so the game lures you to continue playing while you view the fruits of your decisions.

As far as the game itself goes, Last Shelter Survival feels cluttered, busy, and hectic. There’s a constant barrage of notifications and activities to perform, making it seem like there’s lots to do. In truth, a lot of your gameplay is spent waiting for resources to accumulate or for the next set of daily challenges to appear. 

Like other pvp-centric base-building games, Last Shelter Survival has a robust alliance system. You can work together with other players to build up your bases and fight for control in Clash of Zones. This strong cooperative focus is a big draw for lots of people. You’ll be greeted by friends each time you log in to Last Shelter Survival, and you and your friends can work together to earn big rewards.

Last Shelter Survival has a big zombie apocalypse theme. Your base is beset by hordes of zombies and your main goal is to stabilize and survive – in the story, anyway. In practice, it’s not likely that you’ll be overrun by random zombies. The game’s incredibly long tutorial ensures that you’ve got a good base setup that can deal with the dangers of Last Shelter’s world, meaning that you can log off safely at any time with no worries.

Overall, Last Shelter Survival is incredibly similar to games like King’s Choice, Clash of Clans, or Last Fortress Underground. While there are a few gameplay differences between these titles, the big factor that decides which one you play should probably be social. Play the game your friends play. If you want, feel free to install the others and mess around for a bit to get a feel for the gameplay differences, but be cautious of getting overly invested. There’s not a lot of point in getting a cool base in Last Shelter if you don’t have anyone to show it off to.

One of the easiest things to miss in Last Shelter Survival is the Zone Commemoration upgrades. Located in the Technology tree, this section contains a number of upgrades that will literally double your loot from several important activities in the game. Getting the “Advanced Rewards” technology will give you lots of extra boxes from each event, allowing you to get huge amounts of resources. Continuing down the tree will give you even more bonuses to both the rewards you get from events and the rate at which you earn points, making it easier to access the boxes you’ve unlocked. Getting these upgrades is expensive, but it’ll pay off big time over the long run.

So how can you take maximum advantage of this? Play Clash of Zones every day! Don’t worry about getting the full tier of rewards every day – but stay alert and be prepared to push when it seems like you can make it. Every day, do as many of the daily challenges as you can and then push for Clash of Zones challenges. This will give you resources and tokens to buy heroes, enabling you to boost the power of your account.

Finally, be sure to have a medium or long-term objective in mind. Last Shelter Survival has a lot of disparate elements that are all competing for your attention. Don’t get distracted! Set a goal of finishing a technology, upgrading a hero, or setting up your base, and stick to it. If you jump around between a bunch of half-completed goals, you’ll spend a lot of resources without getting the rewards at the end. Finishing what you start will ensure that you get the most out of your playtime.
